Praise-filled living is not expressed in words alone—it is confirmed through obedience, thanksgiving, and sacrificial generosity. Dr. Michael Youssef shows how giving orients our hearts toward God’s work, strengthens worship, and bears witness to the matchless worth of Christ.
God promises that when we give of ourselves radically, He gives back generously. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds believers that giving is not separate from worship—it is a vital expression of praise, obedience, and thanksgiving.
David understood this deeply. Though God told him he would not be the one to build the temple, David did not withdraw or grow resentful. Instead, he gave extravagantly toward the future work of God, acknowledging that even his ability to give came from the Lord’s hand. His praise was not merely spoken—it was confirmed through the substance of his life.
Dr. Youssef explains that giving back to God reveals three powerful truths. First, it shows we believe everything we have belongs to Him. Second, it sows seed for future blessing—not for selfish gain, but so we may abound in generosity. And third, giving feeds praising, and praising feeds giving. A thankful heart becomes a generous heart, and generous living fuels deeper worship.
When believers praise God with both their words and their resources, they testify to the glory and worth of Jesus Christ. May our praise-filled lives create a hunger for Him in others as we live generously for His Kingdom.
Prayer: Father, help me to praise and trust You rightly so that I am generous with the resources that You have put into my hands. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand” (1 Chronicles 29:14).
