In 520 BC, God’s people faced a season of uncertainty. They had returned from exile and begun rebuilding the temple, but opposition and discouragement brought the work to a halt. Into that moment, God spoke through the prophet Haggai: “Be strong … and work. For I am with you.”

Haggai also pointed forward to the glory of God and the One desired by the nations. In Christ, believers have become the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. God’s presence is not distant—it is with His people day and night.
Whatever challenge you are facing today, you can keep moving forward. Be strong. Be courageous. Keep doing the work God has given you, because He will never leave you or forsake you.
