MY Devotional: Daily Biblical Encouragement & Prayer from Leading The Way

Stand on Scripture

Episode Summary

False teaching about the return of Christ troubled the early church, and Paul responded with clarity and urgency. Dr. Michael Youssef explains the coming rebellion, the rise of the Antichrist, and why every believer must be spiritually prepared for Jesus’ return.

Episode Notes

The apostle Paul knew how dangerous false teaching could be. After he planted churches and moved on to preach the Gospel elsewhere, deceptive teachers often followed behind him, spreading destructive doctrines. In Thessalonica, some even circulated a false message claiming that Jesus had already returned.

In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef turns to 2 Thessalonians, where Paul corrected these lies and gave believers clear teaching about events surrounding the second coming of Christ.

Paul warned first of a great rebellion—a falling away from Biblical truth. Dr. Youssef emphasizes the importance of holding firmly to Jesus’ declaration that He alone is “the way and the truth and the life” and that no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Paul also foretold the appearance of a powerful evil figure often identified as the Antichrist. His influence will be extraordinary, but his reign will not last. When Jesus returns, every counterfeit power will collapse before the authority of the true King.

The message of prophecy is therefore not speculation but preparation. Christ will return, and the call of the Gospel is urgent. If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus, do not delay. And if you belong to Him, stand firmly in the Truth, reject deception, and live ready for His appearing.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the promise of Your return to make all things new. Help me to share the incomparable hope of the Gospel with all who will hear. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
