MY Devotional: Daily Biblical Encouragement & Prayer from Leading The Way

One Grateful Leper

Episode Summary

Ten lepers were healed, but only one returned to thank Jesus. Dr. Michael Youssef shows how genuine gratitude goes beyond receiving God’s blessings—it responds with worship, praise, and a heart fixed on the Giver.

Episode Notes

In Luke 17, ten lepers cry out to Jesus for mercy. He tells them to show themselves to the priests, and as they go in faith, they are miraculously healed.

Yet only one turns back.

In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on the Samaritan who returned to Jesus, praising God loudly and falling at His feet in thanksgiving. All ten received the blessing, but only one responded with the gratitude Jesus deserved.

It is possible to become so focused on what God gives that we forget the God who gives it. True gratitude is a posture of worship—recognizing that every good gift comes from His gracious hand and returning praise to Him.

Prayer: Father, I pray that I would be like the one grateful leper, remembering to praise and thank You for all Your blessings. Thank You for saving me. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
