MY Devotional: Daily Biblical Encouragement & Prayer from Leading The Way

Nourish Your Faith

Episode Summary

Persecution and suffering do not have to destroy faith—they can drive believers into deeper dependence on God. Dr. Michael Youssef explains how faith grows through the Truth of God’s Word, tested trust, and a living relationship with Christ.

Episode Notes

How can persecution become a source of strength instead of defeat? In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains that trials and afflictions can deepen our faith by driving us closer to the heart of God.

Faith is not a fixed commodity or an inherited trait. It is a growing relationship of trust in the living God. Like roots that grow deeper or muscles that grow stronger through exercise, faith matures as we depend on God and stand on His promises.

If your faith feels weak, nourish it with the Truth of Scripture. If it feels inactive, exercise it by trusting God in real circumstances. As the believers in Thessalonica discovered, tested faith can become stronger, steadier, and more deeply rooted in the character of God.

Prayer: Lord, I want to trust You more and more with my life. Help me to prioritize time spent with You in Your Word so that I can better live out each day in submission to Your will. Strengthen my faith with Your Gospel. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’” (Luke 17:5).
