What should believers do when the foundations of society seem to be crumbling?
In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef points to Psalm 11 and the prophet Isaiah for encouragement in seasons of anxiety, uncertainty, and change. Judah faced such a moment when King Uzziah died after more than five decades on the throne. The nation suddenly found itself asking, “What happens now?”
Isaiah may have wondered the same thing. But in that very season of upheaval, God gave him a transforming vision: “I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne.” The message could not have been clearer. Earthly rulers change, nations shift, and circumstances become uncertain—but the true King never leaves His throne.
That same Truth speaks powerfully to believers today. Our hope is not ultimately anchored in political stability, cultural strength, or human leadership. It rests in the changeless promises and sovereign rule of Almighty God.
And we know even more than Isaiah did. Jesus Christ—the King who was mocked, crucified, and buried—rose victoriously from the grave and reigns today. Whatever uncertainty surrounds you, lift your eyes above the turmoil. Your King is alive, His throne is secure, and He can be trusted with whatever comes next.
